THE COVENTRY Rugby Foundation launched its 150th anniversary appeal.
A Coventry and Warwickshire Champions breakfast event was hosted at Coventry Rugby’s Butts Park Arena home and was the perfect occasion for the club’s charity arm to get its appeal off to an impressive start.
Coventry Rugby Foundation chair Jon Edwards said: “The Foundation has invested more than £500k over the past five years and has impacted the lives of more than 10,000 people.
“Our many well-established programmes are testimony to the fact that sport can create positive opportunities, build social cohesion and enhance physical and mental well-being.”
Jon added the support from local businesses is important to help the foundation reach big numbers of people who need a lift in these difficult times.
“We want to help people be the best they can be, and we know that sport can play a pivotal role in this since we see practical evidence of this all the time.
“We want to be able to do more and need the support of our local businesses to do that.
“We aim to leave a lasting legacy for the 150th anniversary of Coventry Rugby and to this end have put together a range of business packages available from as little as £500 for those who want to help.”
