Coventry schools invited to design road safety banners

Coventry Editorial 2nd Oct, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

SCHOOLS in Coventry are being invited to enter designs for road safety banners as part of a competition linked to road safety week, which takes place at the end of November (23 to 29).

For the seventh year running, school uniform specialists Recognition Express Coventry is joining forces with road safety charity Brake to hold the competition.

Brake organises road safety week and this year’s theme is ‘drive less – live more’.

Children aged between 4-11 are being asked to design a banner that will encourage people to consider alternatives to motorised transport, and help them understand the benefits of driving less.

Joe Burns, Corporate Fundraiser at Brake, said: “The competition is a powerful way to engage with young children on important road safety issues and drive home the campaign theme.”

Competition entry details can be discovered by visiting www.re-coventry.co.uk/roadsafetyweek

The closing date for entries is Friday, October 9.
