Coventry store opening pet food donation point

Coventry Editorial 25th Jan, 2023   0

PETS at Home’s Coventry Walsgrave store will become the latest to add a community pet food donation point.

The donation points are in partnership with national pet charity Blue Cross and are being launched in stores across the UK to support animals and owners during the cost-of-living crisis.

The Walsgrave store becomes the second in Coventry to add a donation point after the Canley branch became one of six trial stores to test out the scheme back in November.

Pets at Home is seeking donations of dog, cat, puppy and kitten food, as well as food for small animals including rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.

Any donations made will then be collected and distributed by Blue Cross to local food banks.

Pets at Home Coventry Walsgrave store manager Tracey Raybone said: “We’re excited to be one of the first stores in the UK to launch the customer donation points.

“I’m looking forward to raising awareness of the local causes we’ll be supporting, and I know our customers will donate whatever they can.”
