STUDENTS at a Coventry school delivered a trophy-laden end to the school year with their maths and sports skills.
Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School kids beat 18 other city primary schools in the Coventry Catholic Schools Athletics meeting at the University of Warwick.
15 students took part in the event, winning gold overall in track and field – pupils from Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School helped marshal the events.
A trio of pupils achieved Gold in the National Junior Maths Challenge, with Year 6 pupil Yufan posting the best score in the whole of the Romero Catholic Academy, which includes seven primary and one secondary school in Coventry.
Andy McConville, principal at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School, said: “We have some really talented pupils and while it’s brilliant to see our children succeeding, the message is all about taking part and enjoying the challenge.
“It’s been wonderful to end the year with these sporting and academic achievements but also lots of extracurricular activities happening right across the school, including our annual overnight camping experience for our Year 3 pupils.
“We are extremely proud of everyone who took part in these events and are excited to see what we can achieve next year.”
