A COVENTRY support worker has been named as a finalist in the Great British Care Awards.

Tracey Hutchinson, leads a team at Bevann Court extra scheme in Cheylesmore.

Tracey has been nominated for Home Care Worker of the Year for the West Midlands region at a ceremony on November 1, at Birmingham’s ICC.

She was selected due to her commitment, passion and kindness to providing high quality care for those living with dementia Parkinson’s, learning disabilities and other issues which require extra care.

Bevan Court registered manager Rozina Ncube said: “Tracey’s actions are driven by the needs of the people she supports, never dictated by external pressures. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she’s available 24/7.”

Support worker May Wootton added: “I aspire to be as good as Tracey. She’s the kindest, most supportive team leader we could ask for.”

Tracey said: “It may be my name on the shortlist, but it’s the vibrant young team who do everything from the heart that make Bevan Court such a wonderful place to live and work.

“Having the most supportive manager and working for a company that truly invests in its staff makes coming to work a pleasure each and every day.”

Teri Fisher, Making Space regional head of operations responsible for Coventry added: “Tracey is a very well-deserved finalist. She is constantly seeking new solutions and ways to improve and really demonstrates the Making Space ethos that the best is always yet to come

“Tracey’s dedication inspires the same passion in her team and, as a result, the tenants at Bevan Court are supported and valued by happy people who love their work.”
