A DRIVER remains in critical condition while the condition of his three passengers are ‘improving’ after a serious head-on crash with a taxi in Coventry.
A VW Polo GTI and black cab were involved in the collision in Spon End, Earlsdon, just before 6am on Sunday (June 30).
Four people, two men and two women all aged in their 20s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
West Midlands Police told us today (July 4): “The driver remains critical.
“The three passengers are now stable and improving.”
The taxi driver, 47, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police are still appealing to anyone who saw the VW Polo in the moments before the collision.
On Monday, detective sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time but not spoken to us already.
“We are trying to piece together what happened in the lead up to this collision as our enquiries continue.”
