A TEENAGER has been detained on suspicion of threatening a person with a hammer during a house robbery.
A Coventry Police spokesperson said: “Officers executed a warrant at an address in Wood End yesterday (November 16) morning where an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
“It’s alleged he forced entry to a home in Daintree Croft, Cheylesmore, on November 6 and made off with a car having brandished a hammer and demanded the keys.
“The suspect has been released on bail to give detectives more time to gather evidence.
“He is bound by strict bail conditions including living and sleeping at a specified address, to abide by an overnight curfew, and to report to Coventry police station three times a week.
“He will reappear for questioning next month.”
