COVENTRY has been announced as one of four venues for BBC Music’s ‘Biggest Weekend’.

Stars including Snow Patrol, Billy Ocean and Nigel Kennedy will take to the stage in the newly-announced City of Culture on Sunday May 27 and Monday May 28.

The festival will be held at the Memorial Park and will see Coventry as one of four cities hosting a BBC festival that weekend.

Other venues include Swansea, which will host Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, Perth which will be headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Belfast which will include acts such as Beck and Manic Street Preachers.

More stars are expected to be announced in the run-up to the festival.

A BBC spokesman said: “The countdown is on for the most exciting live music event of the Summer, as BBC Music, Radio 2 and Radio 3 join forces to bring two days of spectacular performances to War Memorial Park.”

Tickets will go on sale on February 12.
