Coventry tradesman who is creating Covid memorial garden is through to Screwfix competition semi-final

A COVENTRY business owner has reached the semi-finals of the Screwfix Top Tradesman 2021 competition, writes Ben Workman.

Dominic Palmer, 26, who runs DJP Instillations Ltd, has been selected after ‘showing passion and determination for his trade’.

Dominic, who is currently creating a memorial garden at Trinity Lodge Care Home in honour of those who have died during Covid, is delighted to have reached this stage of the competition.

He said: “I’m delighted to be through to the semi-finals of the competition.




“I hope to reach the national final in September so I can show the judges how dedicated I am to my trade and how I stand out from others in the industry.

“I have built my business by myself over the past five years, going above and beyond to impress my customers and provide the absolute best-in-class service.


“Winning this competition would be the icing on the cake in recognition of all my hard work.”

Screwfix Customer and Digital Director, Simon Jackson, highlighted the importance of the semi-finalists working within the their local community.

He said: “All of our semi-finalists are a great example of the nation’s tradespeople who give their all to support their local community and champion a career in the trade.”

The winner will take home a £20,000 prize bundle comprising tech, tools, and training.
