Coventry Tree Wardens make final of national competition

Coventry Editorial 10th Aug, 2022   0

PLANT based food brand, Cauldron Foods, has announced that Coventry Tree Wardens is one of three finalists in its ‘Cauldron Community Champion’ competition, winning themselves £1,000 of project funding.

The wardens regularly support and educate communities to plant trees in their local area.

The competition – launched in partnership with multi award-winning chef, content creator and author, Max La Manna – spotlights inspiring grassroots community projects across the UK

Max said: “There were so many amazing projects to choose from, but Coventry Tree Wardens is a clear finalist for me.

“The inspirational work that the members do is well deserving of being in the running for Cauldron Community Champion. People of Coventry, your tree wardens need you to vote!”

Ann Wilson, vice chair at Coventry Tree Wardens, said: “Coventry Tree Wardens are supporting communities to plant trees in their local areas.

“The last few weeks have shown how much we all need them.

“Preserving trees, especially in our local woodlands, is very high on our agenda for the planet, for carbon storage, for wildlife and habitats and for people’s health and wellbeing. We also try very hard to educate communities about the many benefits our trees provide.”

To decide the overall top project and to crown the overall winner, the final round will be driven by members of the public who will vote for their favourite of the three.

The winner will be chosen via Cauldron’s Instagram page, with the project achieving the most likes by Friday 12th August at 12pm hailed as the Cauldron Community Champion.

The number one project will then receive a further £1,000 of funding and will be visited by both Max La Manna and the Cauldron Foods team.

Tom Lindley, business unit head at Cauldron Foods, said: “We are more than delighted to shortlist Coventry Tree Wardens as a finalist in our Cauldron Community Champion competition – we feel that their project not only helps the planet, but also the local community.”
