A STUDENT from Coventry University in his 20s has died at a halls of residence.
Police were called to the Bishop Gate student accommodation on Tower Street on Friday where the man’s body was discovered.
Officers from West Midlands Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious and the coroner had been notified.
Two ambulances attended but it immediately became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
A Coventry University spokesperson said: “We are saddened by the death of one of our students.
“Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this awful time and we are offering all the support we can to the family.”
She added there were a full range of mental health support services available for students and colleagues affected by the incident.
And she called for the family’s privacy be respected.
