Coventry vets call for public support

A LOCAL vet clinic is calling for public support to help spread some festive cheer by giving RSPCA pets a magical Christmas.

YourVets24 Coventry is encouraging staff, clients and the general public to donate treats for their Christmas shoebox appeal.

The shoeboxes will be filled by the staff with gifts and donations from the local community – and will be delivered to the Coventry RSPCA in time for Christmas Day.

Head of consulting, Leigh Hinsley, said: “We would love everyone to get involved in any way that they can.

“Presents of treats and toys would really make the Christmas of so many unwanted pets this year.

“Finances are notoriously tight during the festive season, so we want to show the animals we care by rummaging through our cupboards for gifts and treats that are sure to set tails wagging.”

Currently, the Coventry RSPCA branch rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes over 1000 unwanted pets each year.

The centre is full of animals that rely on the support and donations of the general public.

The RSPCA is also looking for donations of decorations to create a festive atmosphere for the animals and visitors alike.

Donations to the YourVets shoebox campaign are invited to send their animal friendly treats before Monday (December 21).
