A GROUP of retired volunteers have been getting in a prehistoric mood by creating child-size dinosaur costumes to add an extra layer of fun to Coventry’s new Dippy the Dinosaur exhibition.
The colourful costumes are for all to use and sit in the educational area by the gift shop just outside the exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum.
They have been created by sisters Ruth Barton and Patti Dean as well as Alex Harris and Shirley Jack, who have all been sewing their whole lives.
They’ve spent their entire lives working in education but developed their sewing talents as youngsters, which they now use to create all manner of items used at CV Life culture venues.
And their work has been recognised winning several awards for their sewing skills.
Dippy the Dinosaur will be in Coventry for the next three years having arrived at the Herbert last month.
