YOUNGSTERS will be putting their foot forward for the Coventry children’s mile, which is back this year after the success of 2019s event.

This year’s children’s mile will be taking place on June 18 and will be part of the wider Go Parks scheme, which aims to promote activity in parks, greenspaces and across schools city-wide.

The 2019 edition, during which Coventry was the European city of sport, saw over 1,800 children from over 30 schools take part.

This year’s event will be supporting 2023’s Team Coventry by raising funds for travel costs as they compete in the International Children’s Games in South Korea.

The event will also support another local charity, although it hasn’t been chosen as of yet.

Everyone taking part will receive a t-shirt and certificate and can choose to run, walk or jog the route.

The route is fully accessible with entries will be made through primary schools.

CV life’s community development manager Wendy Jackson said the event brings children from so many communities together while demonstrating all youngsters can enjoy the same activities regardless of their ability level.
