YOUNGSTERS from Coventry’s Edgewick Community Primary School had a blast with the Bears as Warwickshire County cricket club held a PE session in the park.
The pupils went to Foleshill’s Edgwick Park to enjoy several coaching drills, with club coaches taking the session alongside Bears players Liam Norwell and Ethan Brookes.
The park was the final stop in a week-long Bears on tour campaign, which saw the club’s coffee van visit communities across the region in the build-up to the launch of the Vitality Blast T20 launch at Edgbaston last Saturday (May 20).
The youngsters, aged eight and nine, tried their hand at batting, bowling and fielding.
School Learning Mentor, Ruth Rock, said: “We’ve got a diverse cohort of children in our school, some who love cricket and will go home and watch the Indian Premier League and others who have never picked up a cricket bat before.
“Everyone’s had a brilliant time, and I’m sure it’s been an experience they’ll remember for many years to come.”
