Coventry youngsters take top spot in maths challenge

A TEAM from Coventry’s Grange Farm Primary School showcased their numerical talents as they finished joint first in Princethorpe College’s year five maths challenge.

The event saw 38 pairs of talented mathematicians from across 19 schools take on a series of puzzles against the clock, including Tangram Triangles, Broken Calculators, and Domino Jigsaws.

The competition aimed to challenge youngsters to showcase and develop their reasoning skills and mathematical knowledge.

The Coventry team were joint winners alongside a duo from Paddox Primary School in Rugby, and both sets of youngsters received a prize.




All competing teams were given a certificate and special cookie.

Princethorpe College’s Head of Maths, Sharon McBride said the event proved to be an exciting morning of mathematical challenges that put the childrens skills to the test.
