AN 18-YEAR-OLD from Coventry is vying to become Miss Teen Great Britain, competing in the contest for the second year running.

Bailey Greenway also represented the West Midlands and came in the top 15 last year.

As part of the competition, participants are tasked with raising funds for good causes and Bailey has generated £900 for various charities, including Together For Short Lives, Acorns Children’s Hospice and Parkinson’s UK.

The latter is a a cause close to Bailey’s heart.

She said: “I use my platform to raise awareness about Parkinson’s in memory of my gorgeous nan Cherie who passed away last year.”

She also has another platform called Pageant Pattern which she runs with her sister Millie who is competing in the International Junior Miss next year – this is a series of interviews aimed at breaking down the pageant stereotype.

The finals of the competition will take place on October 16 and 17.

The winners will be deciding by a judging panel on the day.

In the run up to them, Bailey set herself a challenge called ‘Appearance August’ where she made an appearance in her community every day of the month – these ranged from volunteering for organisations to donations and running the 5k Parkrun to raise funds for Short Lives.
