COVENTRY Cathedral has launched an appeal for more volunteers to help keep the Blitz Museum open.
After a successful stint over the February half-term, museum bosses want to reopen it every Saturday and Sunday and weekdays during school holidays from spring until autumn.
Coventry Cathedral is self-funded and relies on donations to remain open, meaning it needs the help of volunteers in its day-to-day running as well as ‘Blitz Brigade’ members at the museum.
Volunteers can help out for as much time as they are able to from one day per month.
The museum is located within the Cathedral Ruins and contains 1940s memorabilia and artefacts.
Visitors can learn about the Coventry Blitz on November 14, 1940, in the period school room before travelling through a typical house of the time and learning more about life in this era.
