Coventry's Broadgate cordoned off and police patrols stepped up after 17-year-old was stabbed

A 17-YEAR-OLD is in hospital with a serious wound to his leg after he was stabbed in Coventry city centre this afternoon (Tuesday).

The incident happened just before 2pm in Broadgate which is currently cordoned off by police, along with Rover Road.

West Midlands Police said it was carrying out forensic investigations and uniformed patrols had been stepped up to offer reassurance to residents.

They urged anyone with any concerns or information about the attack to contact officers via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk or by calling 101.
