COVENTRY’s Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School has officially unveiled its new 288-seat theatre to students and staff.
The project – created through significant investment – has seen the school hall transformed to include new theatre style automatic seating, the latest audio visual equipment, professional lighting and a hi-tech sound system.
Principal Matthew Everett said: “We are extremely pleased to have transformed what was a 1960s-style school hall into a professional theatre facility.
“At Cardinal Wiseman we strive to develop the whole child, and this will provide our students with a space where they can proudly hold performances and events as well as learn more about the theatre industry.”
The theatre will also be used by students and schools from the wider Romero Catholic Academy, which Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School is part of, and be open to the community.
It is hoped amateur dramatics groups, dance clubs and other schools, clubs, organisations and businesses will also take advantage of the space.
