THE MORRISONS Foundation have given a £7,760 donation which will help Coventry’s Grub and Gab Club continue to provide food, shelter, warmth and friendship to homeless and lonely people in the city.
The donation will allow the charity to continue providing a hot meal every Saturday as well as a free shopping bag to help feed families in need for a week.
Morrisons Foundation Specialist Erin Fuller said they are proud to be able to support the charity, especially given the impact the pandemic and cost of living crisis have had on those already struggling with isolation or homelessness.
The Grub and Gab Clubs operations manager Natasha Leese added: “The grant from the Morrisons Foundation will make a big difference to the range of help we can offer.
“Many people experiencing food poverty feel lonely and isolated, and this has additional impacts on their mental health.”
“The Saturday Kitchen project will help to build emotional resilience and ensure people have the food they need so that people are more able to cope with everyday life, reconnect with others and make the best of the support available to them.”
