COVENTRY’S Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) will be offering a lifeline to redundant employees of the collapsed battery manufacturer Britishvolt, with over 50 roles up for grabs.
Positions in engineering, manufacturing and supporting roles across the West Midlands will be available to Britishvolt employees after their employers went into administration last week, with over 300 jobs lost.
An open day will be held at MTC’s Ansty Park headquarters on Wednesday (January 25) between 11am and 3pm so Britishvolt employees can learn about the firm.
Three Britishvolt apprentices have already been taken on by MTC allowing them to complete their training at the centre.
MTC chief people officer, Vicki Sanderson said: “The UK has long suffered from a shortage of people with the right engineering and associated skills to take the country’s manufacturing industry into the future, so it’s important that these skills are not lost to other sectors.”
Any Britishvolt employees interested in attending should contact [email protected] for more information and to register.
