Coventry's New Albany pub bosses take decision not to open until drinkers are allowed back inside

THE OWNERS of a popular Coventry pub have said they cannot wait to welcome customers back to the venue as the lockdown eases.

But Joe and Bianca from The New Albany have said drinkers will have to wait a little bit longer as they have decided not to open as soon as they can on April 12 for the good of their neighbours.

If the lockdown roadmap goes to plan pubs can reopen their beer gardens again on April 12 and have an outdoor service only.

Joe and Bianca said: “After a lot of thinking we at the New Albany Pub have come to a decision to remain closed until we can allow all of our lovely customers back inside.

“It’s a tough decision for us to make, but we have been thinking about the negatives that this could cause, eg noise disturbance, drinking and over crowding on the street from people that can’t get seating.

“We have decided that it is not a feasible option for us as we care for everyone’s safety.

“We cant wait to open our doors for you all and we are just as excited as you all are to get back to normal, but we hope you all understand our decision.

“We are thinking about our customers and want to make the reopening a pleasant enjoyable experience for everybody.”
