Coventry's Whittle Arches bathed in red to support road safety

Coventry Editorial 27th Nov, 2022   0

COVENTRY’S Whittle Arches were bathed in red over the weekend thanks to the work of a small group of volunteers promoting road safety.

Coventry-based charity ‘Because your Life Counts’ spoke to City Councillors about having the lights at the Whittle Arches changed to red on Friday, November 18 to mark National Road Safety week.

The red lights returned on Sunday for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Several members of the charity were joined at the lights ceremony by Coun Gavin Lloyd and Coun Patricia Hetherton alongside other council officials.

‘Because Your Life Counts’ works across the West Midlands and Warwickshire and were formed from the Smart Learner driving school.

The charity aims to educate the next generation of drivers on the importance of road safety.

It has recently given road safety sessions in secondary schools and is aiming to help scouts and other youth groups.
