THIS CHRISTMAS The Myton Hospices is asking adults and children to take part in their annual Santa Dash event in Coventry to raise money for the local charity.
On Sunday, December 6 hundreds of runners will complete a 5km route around the Coventry War Memorial Park.
The registration fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children.
The fee also includes a Santa suit for adults to wear on the day and a pair of reindeer antlers for children.
Those taking part in the Santa Dash are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship money as possible to fund the work of the charity.
Participants are welcome to walk, jog or run the course whilst sporting their festive attire and can look forward to entertainment on the way, including a Christmas quiz.
Well behaved dogs are welcome and can even take part.
Sarah Nute, who has already signed up to this year’s Coventry Santa Dash, said: “Myself, my husband Darren, my mother-in-law Alison and my son Alexander will be taking part in this year’s Santa Dash in memory of my father-in-law, Timothy Nute, who passed away in September after his brave battle against Prostate Cancer.
“We have decided to take part in the Santa Dash for Alexander to be able to do something positive after his Grandad passed away.’
Darren added: “Myton looked after my Dad during his last few weeks, treating him with dignity and respect at all times with their one-to-one focused care which he was so in need of at the time as his condition worsened.
“Whilst raising money for Myton can’t fill the massive void that Dad’s passing has left in all of our lives and those that he knew and loved so dearly, it will help others benefit from the specialist care that Myton provided for my Dad.”
Runners and spectators can enjoy live music and refreshments throughout the event, including homemade cakes and hot drinks. Children can also look forward to a special appearance and performance by Frozen characters, Anna and Elsa.
