A SPECIAL TV programme will be broadcast tonight about the first big event in Coventry’s year as the UK City of Culture.
‘Curtain Up on Coventry’ will be broadcast at 7.35pm on BBC One. It will also be broadcast across the country on BBC Four at 7pm on Wednesday, June 9.
It will look back at the ‘Coventry Moves’ extravaganza which took place on Saturday.
It will reflect the action from throughout the day, telling of the story of the city’s past, present and future through the eyes of the people of Coventry.
Stuart Thomas, Head of Midlands for the BBC, said: “It’s an enormous year for Coventry and we are proud to be able to make this film and bring into people’s homes the ‘Coventry Moves’ event.
“It’s one of the highlights of this great year for the city. Our cameras will capture the event and broadcast it direct to our audience.”
The BBC is committed to supporting Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 throughout the year, further announcements about new content, events and coverage of the celebrations are still to come.
