HUNDREDS of pedal power enthusiasts turned out at Longford Park on Sunday (June 19) for the annual Coventry Cycle Festival.

People of all ages tried out Cycle Speedway and different types of two wheeled activities with a bubble blowing bike, spin art and face painting proving popular amongst the younger visitors.

Boosted by the national boom in cycling, the Coventry Cycle Festival helped boost two wheeled exercise in the city with plenty of interest in upcoming events being shown.

Richard Smith, Cycle Coventry coordinator, said: “I was pleased to see so many families enjoying the Cycling Festival, which we organised with the Friends of Longford Park.

“It was a great way to get a taste of local cycling activities including Coventry Cycle Speedway and Wheels for All.

“We also had lots of interest in the free cycle training, guided rides and cycle routes in the city.”
