A CYCLIST has sustained serious injuries after a crash between a bike and a refuse lorry in Nuneaton this morning.
It happened at the junction of Cedar Road and Lime Grove at 8.51am today.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance with a doctor and paramedic on board attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The cyclist, a man, had reportedly collided with the refuse lorry.
“Ambulance crews assessed the man and found he had sustained potentially serious injuries.
“He was given treatment on scene before being conveyed by ambulance on blue lights to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further emergency care – the air ambulance medics travelled with the ambulance crew to provide further treatment and monitoring to the patient.”
