COVENTRY’S modern day Lady Godiva Pru Porretta MBE had a sense of ‘de ja Pru’ on Tuesday after meeting Prince Charles for a second time in Coventry.

She told the Observer: “It was lovely to speak individually with HRH Prince Charles and he was very happy to hear about the work of The Godiva Trust in Coventry.”

Always promoting the city’s talent, Pru showed the Prince a beautiful rainbow of hope created by her grandson Clement – who she calls her ‘Little Prince Charming’ – and gave him a picture for HM The Queen by a Coventry girl called Rosie.

Pru last met Prince Charles 14 years ago outside the Muslim Resource Centre (below) when – with no Covid restrictions in place – the pair could shake hands.

A variety of activities and events took place during the visit of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall on Tuesday which was, primarily, to mark Coventry’s status as the UK City of Culture.

As Coventry takes centre stage, Pru will be playing a key role, continuing to help champion the city of peace and reconciliation and highlight its attributes to the world.
