DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a teenager in Coventry a week ago have appealed for help to find vital witnesses.
Kieran Brown, aged 18, was taken to hospital with stab injuries last Monday, (June 1) at around 10.10pm. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died of his injuries.
Police hope to find the driver of a white Skoda Fabia hatch driving past the scene in Middle Ride, Willenhall when Kieran was stabbed, at 9:56pm.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We know the photo isn’t very clear, but we’re hoping the driver will recognise their car and remember they were travelling along Middle Ride last Monday evening.
“We’re really keen to speak to the driver as they may have vital information or even dashcam footage which could assist our investigation.”
A post mortem examination carried out last week (Wednesday 3 June), concluded Kieran died from a fatal stab wound.
Last week, Ellie Wain, aged 18, from London Road, Coventry was charged with murder.
Detective Inspector Adam Jobson, from the WMP homicide team, said: “We really need the person or people in this car to get in touch as soon as possible as they could hold vital information. They are not in any trouble, we just need to understand what they may have seen.
“There are also two other cars which may have stopped and could have seen what happened, again, or it may be the cars passing are fitted with dashcam footage, I’d urge these people to contact us.
“We need to clearly understand what happened on that tragic night, a young man has lost his life and his family deserve answers and justice.
“If this was you, or someone you know, please do the right thing and tell us what you know. It may seem insignificant to you, but it could of great importance to our investigation.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact officers via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website or by calling 101.
