Devastated family raises cash reward for return of nine-week old puppy stolen at knifepoint

A DEVASTATED family has raised its cash reward for the return of a nine-week-old puppy stolen at knifepoint in Coventry.

As we reported, the incident occurred on Middleborough Road, Radford, near Nauls Mill Park at around 9.30pm on Saturday, November 24.

Now Chloe Sheepy, 20, has issued another appeal for the safe return of the family’s Staffordshire bull terrier pup, Rylo.

She said: “Since he was taken from us we haven’t stopped looking for him, we’ve been out every night.

“Our home hasn’t been the same. There is such a sad atmosphere – it has hurt everyone – and all we want is our dog home.

“We’ve even upped the reward to £250 hoping someone would come forward with some information.

“We are so worried for his welfare. Is he even being looked after properly? We are not gonna stop until we find something.”

A police investigation was launched into the incident and they are still appealing for information.

The family received news that a man was trying to sell a similar puppy on Holyhead Road, near a Londis shop.

Rylo was stolen when Chloe’s sister Lowri Howard, 16, had taken him for a walk with friends.

She described a male who walked over to her friend’s car, opened the door and demanded the car keys, revealing a knife.

Her friend with the keys was not in the car at the time, so instead he focused his attention on the puppy, who was sitting in Lowri’s lap.

Lowri says the male – who she thinks was between 17 and 19 – was dressed in a black puffer jacket and red trainers with a white bandana covering his face.

She also suspects he is of Asian or Somalian origin.

A Staffordshire bull terrier puppy can sell for hundreds of pounds.
