A DISABLED couple have been left stranded after their car and a mobility scooter were stolen in Coventry.

Callous thieves stole the blue VW Touran from the driveway of a house in Greens Road, Keresley on Saturday (June 8).

A police spokesperson said: “The car had been modified for the driver, and had specially fitted hoists for the front seat passenger.

“At the time the car was taken, a mobility scooter was in the boot. The theft of both items has effectively left the couple housebound.

“Officers are appealing for the return of the vehicle and the scooter and are keen to hear from anyone with information that can assist the enquiry.

“If you know who is responsible, or have any information please contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk from 8am – midnight, or call 101 anytime.

“Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are. Please quote 20CV/135745Y/19.”
