'Doggy wall of fame' to remain at Coventry park bistro

Coventry Editorial 7th Mar, 2023   0

A POPULAR photo exhibition is set to remain indefinitely at the park bistro in War Memorial Park, due to its popularity with the public and a significant increase in four-legged footfall, writes Poppy Chambers.

The ‘doggy wall of fame’ was initiated in the No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM) establishment as part of Walk Your Dog Month, which ran throughout January.

The display is now made up of more than 50 Polaroid images of its canine visitors.

Ryan Hobday, the park bistro manager, said: “Many of our customers are regulars, so having their pets featured on the wall really adds to the sense of community we’ve created.”

And he added he was pleased with the great feedback from visitors and opportunities the updated space had given guests to socialise via their dogs since the £300,000 refurbishment the venue underwent last year.

This extensive update now provides a new variety of refreshments for the cafe’s visiting pet owners and their furry companions, with the options ranging from afternoon tea and vegan sausage rolls, to brunch and weekly homemade specials.

Doggy sausages and ice cream are also sold outside of the pet-free dining area.
