MOTOFEST Coventry has announced it will be linking up with E.ON to ‘supercharge this year’s festival’.

The event – set to be one of the biggest in the city in 2022 – will showcase the latest in advanced automotive, future and electric vehicle (EV) technology.

E.ON Drive – the lead brand partner – provides an end to end electric vehicle charging service for customers and will be holding promotions, competitions and events leading up to MotoFest which is on September 10 and 11.

It is part of energy supply and solutions provider E.ON, which has its UK headquarters in Coventry.

E.ON Drive provides electric vehicle charging solutions to customers at home, at work and on the go, including the supply and installation of fast, rapid and ultra-fast vehicle chargers.

The offering is reflected in this year’s MotoFest which will have a significant future technology focus, demonstrating the latest alternatively fueled vehicles, electric cars and advanced automotive technology.

The new future technology zone, based in the main Greyfriars Green festival site, will feature exhibitors committed to showcasing the latest electric vehicles and motorcycles.

Many of those two and four wheeled exhibits will also take part in dynamic displays on the main sprint circuit and the motorsport and drift arenas.

The festival weekend will also provide the finale for ‘Our Future Moves’, a project involving Coventry City Council, MotoFest Coventry and other regional partners, that showcases the region’s work in world leading transport innovation, though a year-long celebration of events and activities.

Our Future Moves was officially launched in July 2021, with a major exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum.

It also formed part of the first weekend of MotoFest Month 2021, which included motorcycle and car-themed events.

Chris Lovatt, chief operating officer at E.ON, UK Solutions, said: “Coventry is our home and we’re delighted to be supporting this year’s MotoFest, backing the city’s ambitions on leading the green industrial revolution and inspiring sustainable change in how we live our lives in the future – we call it taking action for climate.”

James Noble, MotoFest Coventry Festival Director, added he was delighted with the E.ON link-up.

MotoFest Coventry, dedicated to Coventry’s motoring heritage, will feature a unique blend of racing demonstrations, static displays, live music and anything else with a connection to Coventry, transport and the city’s motoring heritage.
