EARLSDON primary school has been shortlisted for a Pearson national teaching award.

Teachers and students have been spending the week gearing up to present online to a panel of judges on Thursday after being named as a finalist in the ‘Making a difference primary school of the year’ prize.

The school have been asked to demonstrate ways they have improved the school and the wider community for a chance to win either bronze, silver or gold awards.

Staff and youngsters will then find out if they have won at an awards ceremony in London in June.

Judges have been impressed by Earlsdon’s dedication to serving as a school of sanctuary as well as its support and work in worldwide peace projects.

The national teaching awards aim to celebrate education and transformational teaching.

Rebecca Bollands, Deputy Headteacher at Earlsdon Primary School, said: “The school has been praised for its work across the city including leading the Coventry Young Ambassador programme, gaining funding for the Coventry Robotics Hub and running many inclusive sports programmes.

“We are very excited about presenting to the judging panel”.
