Earlybird sign-ups open for Myton Hospice's Glow in the City charity event

COVENTRY will glow in the dark as hundreds of supporters take to the streets to raise money for The Myton Hospice.

Earlybird registration is open for the beloved charity’s Glow in the City event, which will see participants will don their best neon outfits and walk 5km through Coventry city centre to raise vital funds for its hospices.

The £15 registration fee also includes a Glow Pack complete with an exclusive Glow in the City t-shirt, two luminous glow sticks to wear on the night, a pouch of colourful UV powder and a unique medal which participants can collect once they have completed the course.

Organisers are hoping the event, on April 1, will raise £40,000 – enough to fund its Coventry Day Hospice for four months.

Lucy Turner, events coordinator at The Myton Hospices, said: “We are absolutely thrilled about organising our third Glow in the City event in Coventry city centre.

“It’s extraordinary to see Coventry ablaze with colour from all our fantastic participants and volunteers.

“It’s a really fun and well supported event, and with a larger capacity and even more neon powder this year, we’re hoping it will be the biggest and best yet.”

A zumba-style warm-up will kick off the evening before they take to the streets with neon powder paint, dance music and flashing lights.

Once they have completed the course, participants will return to Square One at Coventry University tp dance the night away at the ‘after glow’ party.
