WE have received extremely positive responses to our Bring George Eliot Home campaign from Coventry University and culture trust bosses, including 2021 City of Culture bid leaders.
It follows the council’s willingness last week to ‘explore options’ to suitably re-open the great Victorian novelist’s former house, and to better recognise her Coventry links in the city centre.
Coventry University, Coventry City of Culture Trust and the Culture Coventry trust, which runs the city’s ‘crown jewel’ museums, appear to be strongly willing it to happen.
So let this be another good example of partnership working across Coventry.
It’s time to also hear from the house’s owners, Coventry Bangladesh Centre Ltd.
