AN ELDERLY Coventry man remains critically injured after a hit-and-run last week as the hunt for a white Audi car continues.
Police released shocking CCTV footage last week showing the 64-year-old man trying to escape the speeding car which left him fighting for his life.
The man was crossing the road in St James Lane, Willenhall, at around 7.20pm on Monday when he was struck by the Audi.
Police re-issued an appeal today, asking for the public’s help to identify the car and its driver.
Sergeant Alan Wood of the West Midland Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The man remains in hospital in a critical condition and his family are with him at this difficult time.
“Several people have got in touch with information but I am still keen to speak to anyone who has not yet spoken to us.
“I am certain there are people who know who was driving this car at the time of the collision – please come forward and let us know.
“We know that the car is a white Audi A3 or S3 and is believed to be around 2012-2013 year of manufacture.
“The vehicle will have damage to the offside. We need to find where the car is now.
“Again I appeal to the driver, to do the decent thing and hand yourself in. But likewise any friends or family of the driver who know very well what they have done, you to need to do the right thing and contact us.”
