Elderly jewellery worker suffers suspected broken jaw in sickening Coventry robbery

AN ELDERLY shop worker suffered a suspected broken jaw in a sickening attack during a robbery at a jewellers in Coventry.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said late yesterday: “Officers are urgently appealing for information following a violent robbery in Coventry this morning (Wednesday, April 10).

“We were called to Akash Jewellers on Foleshill Road just after 11am where an elderly shop worker had been seriously assaulted.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains this afternoon, with a suspected broken jaw.




“Two men made off with Asian gold. One is described as a white man of a medium build and around 5 foot 6 to 8 inches tall and the other as an Asian man of medium build aged between 30 to 40 and between 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot tall.

“If you were there and saw what happened, or you have any video footage or any other information, please call us on 101, quoting log 852 of 10 April.
