EXCLUSIVE: Tony Mowbray departs as manager of Coventry City

Coventry Editorial 29th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

COVENTRY CITY manager Tony Mowbray has resigned, the Coventry Observer understands.

Club sources confirmed the speculation to us this morning and they expect to issue a statement later on today.

Speculation has been rising since Mowbray’s post match press conference last night when he made clear he was considering his future at the club.

The Sky Blues’ 2-2 home draw at the Ricoh with AFC Wimbledon mean the Sky Blues have gone ten games without a win this season.

The team had slumped to eighth in League One last season after topping the table under Mowbray last November.

He had assembled a new team after the departure of successful contracted players and loanees in the summer.

It’s understood Mark Venus will take temporary charge of the team.

More to come as we get it.
