THE FAMILY of a young man who tragically died just over a month after his motorcycle collided with a taxi have donated his vital organs so that his ‘light will live on’.

Jack Simpson was riding his motorcycle along Antsy Road into the city on December 4 when he collided with a taxi at the Hipswell Highway Junction.

The 18-year-old sustained very serious injuries and was taken to hospital but sadly died on January 6.

Jack’s family have paid tribute to him, saying: “We’ve lost a bright star following a road traffic collision; but his light will live on as a result of the organs he has donated to help others.

“We, as a family, ask for privacy to grieve at this difficult time.”

The driver of the taxi is helping police with enquiries however officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact PC Stuart Thorpe at the Collision Investigation Unit on 0121 322 6098.
