THE FAMILY of a man who died in a crash in Castle Bromwich says he was a ‘friend to many who will be missed forever’.
Ross David Williams suffered a serious head injury when his Peugeot 207 was struck on the A452, Collector Road, near the junction of Lanchester Way, at around 8.25am on Friday (January 11).
The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family said: “He was an adored son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and nephew. He was a friend to so many and will be missed forever.”
Ross worked as an Education health and care plan co-ordinator at Solihull Council’s children’s services department and was on his way to work when the accident happened.
A Solihull Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that sadly one of our colleagues, Ross Williams, was tragically killed in a car accident on Friday.
“Ross was a much loved and well respected member of staff who will be greatly missed by his colleagues and the many children and families he supported in Solihull.
“Our sincere condolences go to Ross’s family at this sad time.”
Two men, aged 42 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw an orange Fiesta ST and black Golf GT TDI before the collision or who has dash cam footage which could assist enquiries.
