A FAMILY has paid tribute to a Coventry teenager who lost his life in a car crash near Kenilworth.

Jordan Shields was killed after his VW Polo crashed down an embankment and overturned on the A46 by pass shortly before 9pm on Saturday (May 21).

Medics were quickly on the scene but it became apparent nothing could be done to save the 18 year-old from Coventry, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

His family paid tribute to the talented footballer, who played for Coventry United Under 21s.

They said: “A light was extinguished in our family when our darling Jordan was cruelly taken from us.

“He had grown into a fine young man. He was kind, generous, hardworking and funny with a strong sense of right and wrong.

“Over the last few days we have come to realise what a positive impact he made on so many people. He is irreplaceable and our hearts are broken.

“We would like to thank all family and friends for their kind messages of condolence.”

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw the car before the crash. Anyone with information should call Warwickshire Police on 01926 415415.
