Coventry’s Creative Quarter has got Christmas all wrapped up with their range of non-traditional Christmas events on offer this festive season.

The Vegan Christmas Festival is among the highlights of a packed events schedule at FarGo Village on Far Gosford Street.

FarGo Village is the home of a range of specialist vegan shops including The Green Unicorn Vegan Store, vegan brewery Twisted Barrel Brewery and the Totally Vegan café, all of which will be joined by over twenty vegan stallholders for the weekend-long festival on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.

Following the foodie-theme, the Winter Chocolate Festival will give chocolate-lovers the chance to try samples from some of the best makers and traders in the Midlands on Saturday, November 17 while also finding the perfect hand-crafted gifts for the holiday season.

The Christmas spirit will continue with Santa’s Little Makers Market where visitors can find the perfect festive gifts from independent stalls of thirty of the best designers, artists and crafters in the area on Friday, November 23, Saturday, November 24, Friday, December 7, Saturday, December 8 and Friday, December 14.

The market will also feature live performances from local choir groups, delicious street food and mulled wine for the perfect evening of Christmas shopping for all the family where there will be handcrafted gifts available to buy.

FarGo Village will also be hosting Highly Sprung’s A Christmas Performance, a live show on Friday, December 7 during the Little Makers Market, which will be a re-telling of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen followed by Hansel and Gretel.

The list of events is topped off by the annually-popular Festive Cinema Pop-up which will show classic Christmas films on a big screen including Elf, Love Actually and Die Hard on Sunday, November 25, Sunday, December 2, Sunday, December 9 and Sunday, December 16 at 1.30pm.

Elyse Cadden, Events Manager at FarGo Village, said they were excited to be able to host a range of different Christmas events which step away from the traditional elements of the festive season.

She said: “We are thrilled to have a range of events on offer across November and December including our Festive Cinema Pop-Up which was so popular last year that we’ve brought it back on a number of dates this year!

“Our food-based festivals including the Winter Chocolate Festival and Vegan Christmas Festival offer something a bit different from your traditional street food choices and are always popular with all age groups so we’re expecting a large turnout for those.

“Our Santa’s Little Makers Markets are not only a chance to see some exciting local performances, it also gives our visitors the chance to buy Christmas gifts that are handcrafted with love, so they can find gifts that are truly unique this Christmas.

“There’s something for everyone to enjoy with all the events we have to offer and we look forward to welcoming visitors to help celebrate Christmas with us at FarGo Village.”
