Father Christmas and elves help Coventry heritage attraction get festive events underway

FATHER Christmas and his elves have been spotted giving a beloved Coventry heritage attraction a seasonal makeover as its season of festive events gets underway.

Santa and his helpers decorated St Mary’s Guildhall with trees, garlands, wreaths and lights to provide a fitting backdrop to the events.

He will return to the venue to host Storytelling with Father Christmas – complete with gingerbread decorating, a selection box for each child, and plenty of photo opportunities on December 6, 13, 20 and 22.

Mulled Wine Christmas Tours will take place on December 7 and 14, where visitors will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine before taking a guided tour of the venue and learn about Christmas traditions spanning the ages.

Standard entry days take place on December 5, 12, 17 and 19.

Visitors can also book festive lunches and afternoon tea in the venue’s Tales of Tea restaurant, which is open from 11am to 5pm from Wednesdays to Sundays.

Abi Moore, Heritage and Venue Manager at St Mary’s Guildhall said: “Christmas time at St Mary’s Guildhall is always incredibly special, with our spectacular decorations and a host of events and experiences for all of the family.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to come along and celebrate the festive season with us.”
