THE FESTIVE fun is under way for the University of Warwick as it kicked off the holiday season with a free evening of food, music and creativity.
The event saw the university team up with Leamington community centre Brunswick Hub, who hosted the event, as part of its efforts to help staff, students and residents tackle the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
Its ‘Resonate Lates’ programme sees the University host local events with community partners.
The festive feast offered tasty treats to try from all over the world, with student societies sharing what their meals mean to them.
There was also a chance to take part in a host of Christmas craft activities such as decorating wooden tree ornaments and making gifts and decorations from recycled materials.
The Brunswick Hub and Warwick Arts Centre have both recently opened up as free warm spaces for the public and staff and students have already benefitted from a £3.5million cost-of-living support package from the university.
The University of Warwick’s Community Partnerships Manager, Ben Hayday said: “We were delighted to join the amazing team at the Brunswick Hub for an evening of festive fun.
“This was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to share their own festive traditions, and to enjoy an evening together making gifts and decorations to take home.
“It was great to welcome members of the community to celebrate with us.”
