Coventry Editorial 21st Oct, 2022   0

THE MOST wonderful time of the year will get under way on Tuesday, November 15 as Coventry’s annual Christmas lights switch-on will take place in the city centre.

The event will take place in Broadgate between 5.30pm and 8pm and will feature some of the city’s best musical talent.

The Festive fun will also include a laser light show, Christmas elves and a visit from Santa Claus.

Free street parking will be available from 6pm, with council car parks costing between £1-1.50 during the evening.

Coun Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events, Coventry City Council said: “We know it’s financially a tough time for many, so it’s important we can still offer a free, magical event for families to enjoy.

“We’d love for as many people as possible to join us for this celebration – it really is the start of the countdown to Christmas in Coventry.”

Coun Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member, for City Services, added: “When people visit for switch on, and every day throughout the festive season, I hope they enjoy the wonderful lights spread across the city centre.

“We’ve put some up in shopping areas around the city too as we know people also enjoy shopping close to where they live.”
