Firearms, knives and drugs seized as police raid Coventry property

Coventry Editorial 26th Nov, 2024   0

A STASH of weapons and drugs have been seized by police teams in Coventry.

Officers from the Gangs and SOCEX teams carried out a warrant in Lesingham Drive on Monday – inside they found a significant collection of weapons including knives, swords and imitation firearms.

A quantity of suspected Class A drugs were also found, along with suspected cannabis.

In total, officers found two imitation firearms, a zombie knife, seven swords, a flick knife, a lock knife, a butterfly knife and a baton.

A 31-year-old man found at the address was arrested and was taken into custody.

Officers also arrested a 22-year-old man who was suspected of being involved in drug-dealing by officers on their way back from the scene of the warrant.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Coventry Police teams regularly carry out warrants against addresses and people believed to be involved in crime.

West Midlands Police said any reports received were investigated and intelligence was used to build a clearer idea of where and how criminals are active in the city.

Anyone aware of suspicious activity where they live should report it by calling 101, reporting it via Live Char at westmidlands.police.uk or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
