AROUND 30 firefighters responded to a fire in a factory on Rowley Drive at around 8.40pm last night.
Four fire engines, two 4×4 Brigade Response Vehicles and an aerial platform attended, which were crewed by firefighters from Binley, Foleshill, Coventry, Canley and Hay Mills fire stations.
The fire was in a silicone oven and had spread via extraction ducting to affect roof fascias.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, with the fire put out by 11pm.
Utility engineers assisted in the work by isolating gas and electricity supplies to protect firefighters and on-site staff.
A fire crew returned to the factory this morning, using thermal imaging cameras to assess the scene.
