FIVE teenagers have been arrested in connection with the assault of a man in Coventry city centre.
The victim, a man in his 20s, is recovering from his injuries following the attack on January 21, and police have been carrying out enquiries to identify and trace those responsible.
Officers arrested three teenage boys in Corporation Street and Hale Street on Friday February 20, and a boy and girl at separate locations in the city on Wednesday February 25 – all on suspicion of assault.
Following a separate incident in Burgess on February 20, a 16-year-old has been charged with wounding and robbery. He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on April 30.
Two others, both aged 16, have been charged with theft and one has also been charged with criminal damage, following separate incidents in the city centre. Both have been released on police bail to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court on March 12.
A 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy have both been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
